Additional learning requirements (OFAs)

Admission to Bachelor's and single-cycle Master's degree programmes is subject to an assessment of the student's educational background. Should the assessment reveal any gaps, the student will be assigned additional learning requirements (OFA), to be met through additional activities such as courses and seminars as set out in the call for applications or on this website.

Candidates who are admitted into the programme despite having scored to less than 15 points (overall) in the Logic and Mathematics sections (jointly considered) will be assigned additional learning requirements (“Obblighi Formativi Aggiuntivi – OFA”). This means that they will have to attend courses/workshops or read supplementary materials and pass another test within their first year in the programme. If they fail to do so, they will not be allowed to take any second- and/or third-year exams.

All candidates who don’t achieve at least 10 points in the Mathematics and Logic sections (jointly considered) are excluded from the session ranking, regardless of the total score achieved.

Remedial activities for academic year 2024/2025 include a remedial TOLC-E test on 11 October 2024. The Student Registrar will register eligible students for the remedial TOLC-E test . A few days before the test, you will receive an e-mail with information on the test time and how to access. Hence, students are invited to practice and improve their initial knowledge and skills ahead of the test. Those who, following this test, still have OFA, will have to attend a remedial course organized by the University as specified on their programme website and as instructed by email.
